LEXINGTON, Ky. & MIAMI - USL League One side Lexington SC today announced that forward Khalid Balogun has been transferred to USL Championship club Miami FC on a season-long loan, pending league and federation approval.

Lexington SC will retain the rights to Balogun's contract - though there are no options for recall prior to the end of the season - and will have the option of retaining the Maryland native at the conclusion of the 2024 season.

Balogun joined Lexington SC ahead of the club's inaugural 2023 USL League One season after spending the first two years of his professional career with NISA's Maryland Bobcats FC.

He scored four goals in his debut campaign and registered five assists, scoring the first non-penalty kick goal in club history on April 1 on the road against current USL Championship club North Carolina FC.

This season, Balogun has scored one goal in his ten matches played across all competitions - starting one - with five shots across 256 minutes of USL League One, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and USL Jägermeister Cup action.

Balogun will join Miami FC in the USL Championship, which currently sits 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 2-12-2 (8 points) record through 16 games.
