Former Orange County SC star Korede Osundina made a perfect start to the 2024-25 Eerste Divisie season with FC Dordrecht as his pair of first-half goals led the side to a 2-1 victory against FC Emmen on the opening day of the new campaign on Friday night.

The 20-year-old, who joined Dordrecht on loan from Feyenoord after his transfer to the Dutch powerhouse last August, bagged four goals and four assists in just over 1,000 minutes of action last season to help Dordrecht reach the promotion playoffs to the top flight.

The United States youth international picked up where he left off last season with two goals inside the opening 20 minutes against fellow likely promotion contender Emmen, opening the scoring in just the fifth minute as he was on hand to head home from close range after a corner kick from the right had been flicked on by teammate Devin Haen. Osundina added a second in the 18th minute as his well-timed run was picked out by John Hilton, giving Osundina a one-on-one opportunity he put away into the bottom-left corner.
