USL Championship Player of the Month - September, 2024

Two attacking standouts and two superb shot-stoppers grabbed the spotlight, who gets your vote?

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award Presented by Konami eFootball for September, honoring four of the top performers throughout the penultimate month of the 2024 regular season as they take their place on the ballot.

Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, October 7 at 12 p.m. ET.

  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.

  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, October 10.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL Championship Player of the Month – September, 2024

Kieran Phillips, Sacramento Republic FC – Phillips led all players with five combined goals and assists in September, bagging three goals and two assists to move into double-digit goals in the league this season as he averaged a goal contribution every 38.4 minutes over five appearances and posted a +1.58 Goals Added mark.

Maxi Rodriguez, Detroit City FC – Rodriguez helped lead Le Rouge to an undefeated month as he recorded two goals and two assists in four appearances, averaging a goal contribution every 68.8 minutes while tying for the league-high with four big chances created.

Renan Ribeiro, Hartford Athletic – The Brazilian goalkeeper posted four shutouts in four appearances to keep the side undefeated as it pursued a place in the postseason as he ranked second in the league with 20 saves, posted a league-high +2.99 Goals Added mark, and -2.89 Goals Prevented mark.

Colin Shutler, Orange County SC – Shutler posted three shutouts in three appearances to help OCSC move back above the playoff line with a three-game undefeated streak, recording 12 saves, a +2.90 Goals Added mark and a -2.98 Goals Prevented mark.
