If you were the sort of person that felt inclined to use the internet for comedic reasons, you might at some point have considered slipping the name “Wilson Harris” into the owner slot on the Wikipedia page for the Boys in Blue.

You see, the 24-year-old Louisville City FC striker has consistently had Indy’s number over the years.

Harris has recorded nine goals in 12 regular season appearances against Indy in his career. After his hat trick in LouCity’s 5-3 victory against Indy in the first edition of the Louisville-Indianapolis Proximity Association Football Contest in April, he’s averaging a goal every 96.4 minutes when he squares off against the Circle City’s club.

That puts Harris in elevated company when it comes to picking on an individual opponent in the USL Championship’s history.

Only six players in the Championship’s history have registered at least nine goals against an individual opponent all-time. Some of those achievements came against MLS reserve opposition, meaning they might not resonate quite as much, but by contrast what Harris has put together individually against Indy sits among a collection of impressive achievements on his resume.

It goes back to his first season in the Championship, when he broke in with Sporting Kansas City II in 2019. Harris scored in both contests against Indy that season, and then added another pair of goals in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. The second of those came in a crucial 2-1 loss for Indy in the penultimate game of the season, which eventually led to the Boys in Blue missing the postseason.

Overall, Harris has had only one season in his career in which he hasn’t found the net against Indy at least once. That was in his first season with LouCity in 2022. Since then he’s bagged four goals in three appearances to get right back on track.

Most Goals VS. Individual CLUB, USL-C Regular season

1. Matt Fondy vs. Harrisburg City Islanders – 11 goals in 9 games
2. Kris Tyrpak vs. FC Tulsa – 10 goals in 11 games
T-3. Wilson Harris vs. Indy Eleven – 9 goals in 12 games
T-3. Sebastian Guenzatti vs. Miami FC – 9 goals in 13 games
T-3. Cameron Lancaster vs. Sporting KC II – 9 goals in 8 games
T-3. Christian Volesky vs. FC Montreal – 9 goals in 7 games

Now he’s only two goals from equaling the all-time lead in goals against an individual opponent, currently held by Matt Fondy, who scored 11 goals in nine games in his career against the Harrisburg City Islanders. Not for nothing, but seven of those when Fondy was in LouCity’s colors during the club’s inaugural season in 2015, when he won the Golden Boot and Player of the Year award.

As the LIPAFC returns on Saturday night (7 p.m. ET | CBS Sports Golazo Network), Harris is set to have Indy in his crosshairs again.
